Getting there
Direct flights from Taipei Songshan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung take about 50 minutes. Passenger ferries from Budai Port (Chiayi) run about 80 minutes—a budget-friendly option.
Best time to visit
April–September is high season; June–August draws the biggest crowds. The Penghu International Sea of Fireworks Festival in April is a major draw. After October, the northeast monsoon strengthens and some water activities may be limited.
